# Ad Account Shield > Ad Account Shield checks Meta ads for policy risk before upload and keeps agencies' ad accounts from getting banned. Ad Account Shield is an independent tool for agencies and media buyers who run Facebook and Instagram ads. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Meta. It never promises to reverse bans and does not help anyone get around Meta's enforcement. Last updated: 2026-10-20 ## Key facts - Who it's for: agencies and freelance media buyers running Meta ads for clients, especially in categories that get flagged often, such as health, beauty, supplements and finance. - Free checker (https://www.adaccountshield.com/check): you give it the primary text, headline, landing page link and a category, plus optionally up to 4 images or one video (the browser takes 4 still frames from the video and sends only those). - What the checker returns: a rejection-risk score from 0 to 100, and the exact phrases, images or video frames at fault, each with the Meta policy behind it, why it's a risk, and a fix. - A full safer rewrite of the ad is unlocked by adding an email address. - Free limits: 3 checks a day without an email, 15 a day with one. Checking exactly the same ad again returns the saved result and doesn't use up a check. - Limits: it estimates risk from Meta's published Advertising Standards and can't see Meta's own review, so a low score is not a guarantee. It doesn't check voiceover or audio. It checks 4 frames of a video, not every frame. It reads the landing page link as text but doesn't open or fetch the page. - Data: ad text, headline, link, category and result are kept for 12 months, then deleted. Images and video frames are not stored; only a fingerprint of each is kept. - Ad Account Shield never promises to reverse bans or restrictions, and never helps anyone get around Meta's enforcement (no backup accounts, cloaking or workarounds). - Current Meta names: Business Support Home (formerly Account Quality) is where Meta shows rejections and restrictions and where reviews are requested; a business portfolio is what Meta now calls the container for a business's Pages, ad accounts and other assets; Financial products and services is the Special Ad Category that replaced Credit (required since 21 January 2025 for these campaigns from advertisers based in the US or showing ads to US audiences). ## Tool - [Free Facebook ad policy checker](https://www.adaccountshield.com/check): paste ad copy, a headline and a landing page link, and optionally upload up to 4 images or a video (4 frames are checked). Returns a 0-100 rejection-risk score, the exact phrases or frames at fault with the Meta policy behind each, a fix for each, and a safer rewrite when you add an email. - [How the Ad Account Shield checker works](https://www.adaccountshield.com/how-the-checker-works): What the Ad Account Shield checker reads, what it returns, what it can't do, and what happens to your ad text, images and video frames after a check. ## Why Meta ads get rejected - [Why was my Meta ad rejected? (all reasons)](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected): an index of the common rejection reasons. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected for Personal Attributes?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/personal-attributes): A Personal Attributes rejection means your ad asserts or implies something personal about the viewer, such as their health, age, religion, finances or name. Rewrite it to describe what your product does instead of what the viewer is or has, then resubmit, or request another review in Meta Business Support Home if you believe it was wrong. - [Why did Meta reject my weight loss or health ad for unrealistic claims?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/unrealistic-outcomes): This rejection means Meta’s Health and Wellness policy flagged exaggerated health or weight loss claims, a fixed result in a set time with no qualifier, or wording that attacks how people look. Remove the promise and negative body language, describe realistic use with an honest timeframe, target 18 and over, then resubmit or request another review. - [Why was my before-and-after Meta ad rejected?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/before-and-after-photos): Meta now allows before-and-after photos for cosmetic products and procedures, and lets dietary weight loss ads show a product’s impact, if the ad targets people 18 and over. So a rejection usually points to the audience, a pinched-fat close-up, a fixed result in a set time, skin whitening or copy that attacks how people look; fix that, then resubmit or request a review. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected for misleading claims or deceptive practices?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/misleading-claims): A Prohibited Commercial Practices rejection means Meta thinks your ad or landing page could mislead people out of money or personal information, for example with deceptive pricing, a fake endorsement or a guarantee that sounds too good to be true. Remove any claim you can’t prove, match the price to the checkout, then resubmit or request another review. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected for low quality or sensational content?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/low-quality-sensational): This rejection means Meta judged your ad to be clickbait under its low quality or disruptive content policy: it withholds information, uses sensational language or pushes people to like, comment or share. Rewrite it to plainly say what you’re offering, drop the engagement requests, then resubmit or request another review in Meta Business Support Home. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected for Circumventing Systems?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/circumventing-systems): A Circumventing Systems rejection means Meta thinks your ad or its landing page was set up to hide what people will really see from review, for example through cloaking, misleading redirects or disguised text. Make the ad and page show the same honest offer to everyone, then resubmit or request another review in Meta Business Support Home. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected for financial services or income claims?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/financial-income-claims): Meta rejects money-related ads that promise income, quick riches or guaranteed, risk-free returns, and credit, loan or insurance ads that aren’t limited to people 18 and over; crypto ads also need Meta’s prior written permission. Remove the promises, target 18+, use the Financial products and services Special Ad Category for US audiences, then resubmit or request a review. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected for not declaring a Special Ad Category?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/special-ad-categories): This rejection means Meta decided your campaign is about financial products and services (formerly Credit), employment, housing, or social issues, elections or politics, and it wasn’t declared in that Special Ad Category. Select the right category in Ads Manager, rebuild the audience within its limits, complete authorization for political ads, then resubmit or request a review. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected because of the landing page?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/landing-page): A landing-page rejection means the page your ad links to doesn’t match what the ad promotes, uses deceptive redirects or pop-ups, or breaks another policy itself, because Meta’s review can include the destination. Fix the page so it loads and shows exactly what the ad promises, then edit the ad so it’s reviewed again, or request another review. - [Why was my Meta alcohol ad rejected?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/alcohol): Meta allows alcohol ads only when they follow local law and industry codes, never target people under 18, use each country's higher minimum age where Meta sets one, and avoid countries where alcohol ads are banned. Fix the age and country targeting, check the creative and landing page, then resubmit or request a review. - [Why was my Meta tobacco or vape ad rejected?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/tobacco-vaping): Meta does not allow ads that promote the sale or use of tobacco, nicotine products, vapes of any kind, including nicotine-free and wellness vapes, or smoking accessories, and the policy has no permission route. Only quit-smoking products approved by the WHO or FDA, targeted 18 and over, and anti-smoking content can run. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected for drugs or paraphernalia?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/recreational-drugs): Meta does not allow ads that sell or encourage the use of illicit or recreational drugs, THC or cannabis products, or drug paraphernalia such as bongs, rolling papers and vaporizers, even where they are legal. Ads can mention drugs only for news, awareness or political advocacy, so remove any sale or encouragement and resubmit. - [Why was my Meta CBD or hemp ad rejected?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/cbd-hemp): Meta allows CBD ads only in the United States, from advertisers certified by LegitScript and authorised by Meta, targeted to people 18 or older, with no health claims, and THC products and cannabis products with psychoactive components are not allowed. Work out which category your product falls in, remove treatment claims, and get authorization before running CBD ads. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected for weapons or accessories?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/weapons): Meta bans ads that promote the sale or use of weapons, ammunition, explosives and weapon modification accessories such as optics, flashlights and suppressors. Items that are not part of a weapon, like holsters, cases, safes and targets, are allowed when targeted 18 and over, so check which side your product falls on before you fix and resubmit. - [Why was my Meta gambling or gaming ad rejected?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/gambling): Meta treats any online product where something of monetary value is part of both the entry and the prize as gambling, and only authorized ad accounts can advertise it, to people 18 and over, outside unsupported markets. Check whether your product counts, get authorization in Meta Business Suite with your license, then fix targeting and resubmit. - [Why was my Meta crypto ad rejected?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/crypto): Meta rejects ads for crypto exchanges, trading, lending, mining software, wallets that let people buy, sell, swap or stake, and crypto investment offers unless the ad account has Meta’s written permission. Apply in the Authorizations and Verifications tab with a license Meta recognizes for your country, or keep the ad to content that needs no permission. - [Why was my Meta dating ad rejected?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/dating): Meta only allows dating ads from advertisers with its prior written permission, targeted to people 18 and over, and it rejects dating ads that are sexually suggestive, transactional, about affairs or that imply personal attributes. Get permission first, then rewrite the creative around what the service does and resubmit or request a review. - [Why was my Meta supplement ad rejected?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/supplements): A supplement rejection usually means Meta treats an ingredient as an unsafe substance, the ad can reach people under 18, or the copy claims to cure a disease. Stop promoting anything on Meta's unsafe list, set the audience to 18+, rewrite the claims, then edit the ad or request another review. - [Why was my Meta prescription drug or telehealth ad rejected?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/prescription-drugs): Meta only lets authorised online pharmacies, telehealth providers and drug manufacturers promote prescription drugs, and only to people 18 or older in the US, Canada or New Zealand where they are certified, and prescription weight-loss drugs such as GLP-1 medicines follow the same rules. Get authorization first, or keep the ad about your telehealth service in general. - [Why was my Meta sexual wellness ad rejected?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/sexual-wellness): Meta allows sexual and reproductive health ads, such as condoms, contraception, fertility services and erectile dysfunction products, but only when they focus on health rather than pleasure and target people 18 or older; sex toys, erotic products and adult services are not allowed. Refocus the ad on health, set the age to 18+, and check the images. - [Why was my Meta cosmetic procedure ad rejected?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/cosmetic-procedures): Meta allows ads for cosmetic procedures, injectables and surgery, including before-and-after transformations, but only when targeted to people 18 or older. Rejections usually come from younger targeting, copy that attacks someone's appearance, permanent skin-lightening, or promised results in a set time with no qualifier, so fix those, then edit the ad or request another review. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected for adult content or nudity?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/adult-content): An adult content rejection means Meta found nudity, implied nudity, a sexually suggestive pose or gesture, or sexual language somewhere in your image, video, audio or text. Replace it with creative that shows the product plainly, check whether the ad needs 18+ targeting, then resubmit or request another review in Meta Business Support Home if you believe it was wrong. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected for shocking or graphic content?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/shocking-content): This rejection means Meta found imagery that shocks, scares or disgusts, such as gore, visible injuries, body waste, suffering, or a weapon pointed at the viewer. Replace it with creative that shows the product or the result calmly, without the graphic detail, then resubmit or request another review in Meta Business Support Home if you believe it was wrong. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected for profanity or grammar?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/grammar-profanity): This rejection comes from Meta's Profanity policy, which covers swear words even when they are starred out or misspelled, profane emojis and gestures, and also odd spelling, symbols and random capitals. Rewrite the copy in plain, normally spelled words, remove profanity from text, images and audio, then resubmit or request another review in Meta Business Support Home. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected for discriminatory practices?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/discriminatory-practices): This rejection means Meta thinks your ad, or the way it is targeted, excludes or favours people based on attributes such as race, religion, age, sex, family status or disability. Rewrite the ad to describe the offer and its real requirements, remove discriminatory audience exclusions, use a Special Ad Category where required, then resubmit or request another review. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected for misinformation?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/misinformation): A misinformation rejection means your ad contains a claim, image or video that fact-checkers have rated, or misinformation Meta removes under its Community Standards, such as harmful health or vaccine claims or false voting details. Remove or correct the claim using an authoritative source, then resubmit, or request another review in Meta Business Support Home if you believe it was wrong. - [Why was my AI-generated Meta ad rejected, and do I need to disclose AI?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/ai-generated-content): Ads about social issues, elections or politics must disclose realistic images, video or audio made or edited with generative AI, and any ad can be rejected if realistic altered media could seriously mislead people on a matter of public importance, or if it uses a public figure to bait people into a scam. Disclose where required, remove misleading or rule-breaking AI media, then resubmit or request another review in Meta Business Support Home. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected for intellectual property infringement?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/intellectual-property): This rejection means Meta thinks your ad may infringe someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights, for example by selling counterfeits, using another brand's logo, or using music, footage or images you have no licence for. Replace anything you don't own or have permission to use, then resubmit or request another review in Meta Business Support Home. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected for social issues, elections or politics?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/political-ads): Meta rejects ads about social issues, elections or politics when the advertiser isn’t authorized, the ad runs without a verified “Paid for by” disclaimer, or the disclaimer itself breaks Meta’s rules. Get authorized in the country you target, create an accurate disclaimer, then resubmit, or request a review if the ad isn’t political at all. - [How do I request another review of a rejected Meta ad?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/request-review): If you believe Meta rejected your ad by mistake, you can request another review in Meta Business Support Home, and Meta aims to decide within 48 hours. If the ad does break a rule, edit it or create a new compliant ad instead, because a second rejection of the same ad cannot be appealed again. - [How do I use Meta Business Support Home?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/business-support-home): Meta Business Support Home, formerly Account Quality, is where you see the status of your business portfolios, ad accounts and Pages, find rejected ads and restrictions, and request reviews. Open it on a computer, check the Outstanding issues for your accounts, and follow the steps it shows under What you can do. - [Why is my Meta ad stuck in review?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/ad-stuck-in-review): In review means Meta is checking the ad against its Advertising Standards before it runs; Meta says most ads are reviewed within 24 hours, though some take longer. Check the status at every level in Ads Manager, avoid edits that restart the review, and look in Business Support Home if it ends in a rejection. - [Why was my Meta ad rejected after it was approved or edited?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/rejected-after-editing): Meta reviews ads again after certain edits and can re-review any ad at any time, including after people hide, block or report it, so an approved ad can still be rejected. Read the reason in Business Support Home, fix what the edit or the re-review found, then resubmit or request another review if you believe it was wrong. - [Why was my boosted Facebook or Instagram post rejected?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/boosted-post-rejected): A boosted post is an ad made from an existing post, so Meta reviews it against the same Advertising Standards as any other ad, including its targeting and link. Read the reason in Business Support Home, then create a new compliant post and boost it, or request another review if you believe the rejection was wrong. ## Ad account problems - [What does it mean when Meta restricts your ad account?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-account-restricted): A Meta advertising restriction means Meta has limited or removed your ability to advertise, usually after Advertising Standards violations, unusual activity or payment problems. Read the reason in Meta Business Support Home, complete any verification Meta asks for, and if you believe it’s wrong, request a review; nobody can guarantee the outcome. - [Why was my Meta ad account disabled for a payment issue?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/ad-account-disabled-payment): When the payment method for your ads fails, Meta pauses your ads and disables the ad account until you pay the amount due. Pay the balance in Billing & payments, fix or replace the payment method, and your ads resume; if Meta has also flagged unusual or disputed payments, follow the steps in Business Support Home. - [Why is my Facebook Page restricted from advertising?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/page-restricted): A Page restricted from advertising can’t be used to run ads, often because ads or content tied to it severely or repeatedly broke Meta’s Advertising Standards or Community Standards. Find the reason in Business Support Home and Page Status, fix the cause, and request a review if you believe the restriction is wrong. - [Why is my Facebook profile restricted from advertising?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/profile-restricted): If your personal Facebook or Instagram profile is restricted from advertising, you can’t use Meta products to advertise or create new ads, and ad accounts where you are the only user may be disabled. Read the reason in Business Support Home, complete any identity or security steps, and request a review if you believe it’s wrong. - [Why is my Meta business portfolio restricted?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/business-portfolio-restricted): A restricted business portfolio isn’t allowed to advertise, and because the portfolio owns your ad accounts, Pages and catalogs, the restriction reaches the assets inside it. Find the reason in Business Support Home, complete any verification or security steps Meta lists, and request a review if you believe it’s a mistake. - [Why is Meta asking me to verify my identity to run ads?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/identity-verification): Meta may ask you to verify the advertiser and payer behind your ads, using a government ID for a person or business documents for an organisation, and if you miss the deadline your ads can pause, and some accounts are restricted until verification is done. Start it in Meta Business Suite under Authorizations and verifications. - [Why did Meta restrict my account for unusual activity?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected/unusual-activity): When Meta notices unusual activity, or suspects a business portfolio, ad account, Page or profile has been hacked, it may temporarily limit spending, payment features or adding people while it investigates. Secure every login first, undo any changes you don’t recognise, then follow the steps Meta lists in Business Support Home. - [Rejected, restricted or disabled: what's the difference on Meta?](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-rejected-vs-restricted-vs-disabled): A rejected ad, a restricted account and a disabled ad account are different problems on Meta. See what each one means, where to check it and what to do next. ## Reference - [Meta ad policy glossary](https://www.adaccountshield.com/meta-ad-policy-glossary): Plain definitions of the Meta ad terms you meet after a rejection or restriction: Advertising Standards, Business Support Home, Special Ad Categories and more. - [Full text of every guide (llms-full.txt)](https://www.adaccountshield.com/llms-full.txt): all guides and support pages in one Markdown file. ## About and trust - [About](https://www.adaccountshield.com/about): built by Ahmed, who has run Meta ads for six years and runs a paid-social agency. - [How we handle your data](https://www.adaccountshield.com/data): what the checker stores, for how long (12 months for checks), and how to have it deleted. ## Optional - [Privacy policy](https://www.adaccountshield.com/privacy) - [Terms of use](https://www.adaccountshield.com/terms) - [Contact](mailto:ahmed@adaccountshield.com): ahmed@adaccountshield.com
