Meta ad rejected · Financial and insurance products and services
Why was my Meta ad rejected for financial services or income claims?
Meta rejects money-related ads that promise income, quick riches or guaranteed, risk-free returns, and credit, loan or insurance ads that aren’t limited to people 18 and over; crypto ads also need Meta’s prior written permission. Remove the promises, target 18+, use the Financial products and services Special Ad Category for US audiences, then resubmit or request a review.

Also change: Meta requires prior written permission for crypto trading ads, so get it before running this ad, or the account may be restricted. On the landing page (https://cryptobot.example/start), remove any return promises, "guaranteed" or "zero risk" wording and earnings examples. Add a visible risk disclosure and any required licensing information.
The ad combines a crypto trading bot with guaranteed, risk-free, get-rich-quick return promises, which commonly leads to rejection.
What usually triggers it
- Get-rich-quick or income promises. Meta’s Prohibited commercial practices policy bans offers of unrealistic financial reward for unclear or minimal effort.“Make $500 a day from your phone. No experience needed.”
- Guaranteed, risk-free or very fast investment returns, or past results used to suggest the viewer will earn the same.“Guaranteed 20% a month, zero risk, profits in 24 hours.”
- Earnings that depend on recruiting other people into the scheme.“Earn a bonus for every friend you sign up under you.”
- Credit card, loan or insurance ads that can reach people under 18, or that skip the disclosures the law requires.“A life insurance ad set to ages 16 to 65.”
- Crypto exchanges, trading platforms, lending, staking, mining software or crypto investment ads run without Meta’s prior written permission.“Buy and stake Bitcoin with zero fees on our app.”
- Financial products Meta does not allow at all: payday loans, salary advances, loans of 90 days or less, bail bonds, binary options, CFD trading, initial coin offerings, and loans with upfront fees or guaranteed approval.“Get $1,000 today, approval guaranteed, repay next payday.”
- For ads aimed at the US, investment offers that push people to talk to the advertiser by direct message.“DM me ‘INVEST’ and I’ll send you my strategy.”
How to fix the ad
- Cut every earnings or return figure that reads as a promise. Say what the product teaches or does and how much work it takes.
- Delete “guaranteed”, “risk-free”, “no risk”, “overnight” and “passive income on autopilot”, and drop past profits used to imply future results.
- For credit cards, loans and insurance, set the audience to 18 and older and add the disclosures the law requires in your market.
- If you are based in the US or your ads reach the US, choose the Financial products and services Special Ad Category for the campaign. In the US it covers banking, insurance, investment services and buy now, pay later as well as credit.
- For crypto trading, exchange, lending or staking ads, apply for Meta’s written permission in the Authorizations and Verifications tab in Meta Business Suite, with a recognized regulatory license or registration, before you run anything.
- For US investment offers, send people to your website or a compliant form, not to a DM conversation.
- Make the landing page match: the same honest claims, with terms and risks stated upfront. Our free checker at /check estimates policy risk in your copy before upload; it is not Meta’s decision.

If your ad is already rejected
- Read the reason in Meta Business Support Home (formerly Account Quality) or in the rejection notice, and note which policy it names.
- If the ad does break the rule, edit it in Ads Manager or create a new compliant ad. An edited ad goes back into review automatically. If you might request a review, do not delete the rejected ad, or you may lose that option.
- If you believe the ad was rejected by mistake, for example an educational ad with no financial offer, select it in Business Support Home and choose Request review. Meta aims to decide within 48 hours, and if it is rejected again you cannot request another review for that ad.
- If the problem is missing permission or verification, such as crypto written permission or financial advertiser verification, complete that process first, then resubmit.
- Keep records of each version, the notice and the dates. Editing or deleting a rejected ad does not remove the violation, and severe or repeated violations can restrict the ad account.
Check your next ad before you upload it
Paste the copy and add the image or video. The free checker scores the rejection risk, points to the exact words at fault and the Meta policy behind each one, and suggests a safer version. It estimates risk; it isn't a decision from Meta.

“Are you struggling with belly fat?” · primary text
The ad asserts a personal characteristic about the viewer by addressing them directly about a body condition.
Fix: Our gummies are designed to support a healthy metabolism.
“helped Maria lose 12 kg in 3 weeks!!!” · primary text
A specific weight-loss amount within a short timeframe is an exaggerated, unrealistic result, and supplement ads must target 18+.
Fix: Remove the specific result; use a general statement such as 'Part of a balanced routine for healthy weight management.'
“GUARANTEED RESULTS” · headline
Guaranteed results are a prohibited claim for health and weight-loss products.
Fix: Use 'Start your wellness routine today' or remove the claim entirely.
“Doctors hate this one trick.” · primary text
This is classic clickbait, and the triple exclamation marks add to the sensational tone.
Fix: Replace with 'Learn how our gummies fit into a healthy routine.'
“See the before and after pics.” · primary text
Before-and-after comparisons for weight loss are high risk and draw rejection.
Fix: Remove the before-and-after reference and focus on the product's ingredients.
“https://bit.ly/slim-offer” · landing page
URL shorteners hide the true destination and are high risk, and can lead to account-level enforcement.
Fix: Use the full, direct landing page URL on the brand's own domain.

Creative: remove any before-and-after images and any overlay text about kilos lost. Show the product or lifestyle shots instead, with overlay text like "Support your healthy routine". Questions
Can I show income results or earnings screenshots in my ad?
Not as a promise of what the viewer will earn. Meta bans offers of unrealistic financial reward for unclear or minimal effort, and investment offers that use past returns to suggest similar future results. Talk about what the product teaches or does instead.
Do I need the Financial products and services Special Ad Category?
Yes, if you are based in the US or show financial products and services ads to people in the US; Meta has required it since January 21, 2025, and ads may be rejected without it. It replaced the old Credit category, and credit ads reaching Canada or certain parts of Europe also need it.
Can I advertise crypto on Facebook and Instagram?
Some crypto ads, yes, but many need Meta’s prior written permission. Exchanges, trading platforms, crypto lending, wallets that let people buy, sell, swap or stake, mining software and crypto investment ads need permission backed by a recognized license or registration; crypto news, education, events and tax services do not, as long as they do not offer crypto products.
Why must my loan or insurance ad target 18 and over?
Meta’s policy allows ads for credit cards, loans and insurance only when they target people 18 or older. Ads that only mention a financial product, with no way to get it, and brand ads for banks or insurers do not need this.
Can I appeal a financial ad rejection?
Yes. If you believe the ad was wrongly rejected, request another review in Meta Business Support Home and Meta aims to reply within 48 hours. If the ad really does promise income or guaranteed returns, fix it instead, because repeated violations can lead to account restrictions.
Does this apply to my landing page and lead form too?
Yes. Meta tells advertisers to check the landing page as well as the text, image, video and targeting of a rejected ad, and its financial services policy bars these ads from directly asking people for personally identifiable or certain financial information.
